Reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Sales & Marketing (EVP), the Product Director is the product expert and champion of ThinData’s Email Marketing Solutions (“EMS” and “Assembly Engine”).

The incumbent is responsible for defining the vision for ThinData’s EMS and Assembly Engine, product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycles. This includes researching, gathering and prioritizing client requirements, defining the product roadmaps and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the development of new product features and enhancements will increase revenue and profitability, meet client expectations/ and are market competitive.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Act as the EMS and Assembly Engine product expert and champion, possessing a thorough understanding of their functionalities
  • Research competitive products and trends in the global email delivery marketplace
  • Perform competitive analysis and comparisons, localization and EMS and Assembly Engine product positioning assessments
  • Liaise with clients and ThinData's internal departments (technology, sales, support and project management) to clearly understand customer requirements
  • Lead the EMS and Assembly Engine strategy processes based upon a clear understanding of the marketplace and client needs
  • Identify ongoing opportunities to increase profitability and meet revenue objectives
  • Identify, prioritize and specify value-added product features and enhancements and define/develop a product strategies for development, implementation and go-to-market plans
  • Train Sales, Account Management and Marketing teams on new product enhancements to understand product positioning, key performance benefits and target clients
  • Assist Sales team in client presentations and responding to RFPs as the EMS and the Assembly Engine resource expert
  • Participate in the release planning process to determine the contents of each new release
  • Participate with the teams responsible for writing functional requirements; creating prototypes for usability testing; working with development, documentation, and software quality assurance specialists for the delivery of new features
  • Work with industry analysts and product reviewers to articulate the value of and the differentiation of ThinData's EMS and Assembly Engine
  • Implement product management best practices and methodologies as required
  • Stays current with market trends and activities of competitors
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the EMS and the Assembly Engine
  • Participate in client events and user conferences as ThinData's subject matter expert
  • Other reasonable duties, as required
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and MBA preferred
  • 5+ years experience in product management, ideally in email marketing, interactive marketing, software development or consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to define value-added product features and launch successful products
  • Experience in and understanding of a data-centric environment is essential; possess a comprehensive understanding of data systems
  • Experience within companies providing software as a service.
  • Strong analytical and planning abilities
  • Ability to accurately evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and translate ideas and requirements into viable solutions for clients
  • Thorough understanding of the product lifecycle
  • Knowledge of product management best practices/methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written); excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and successfully lead requirements elicitation
  • Organizational agility and strong conflict management skills
  • Ability to produce results from cross functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to ensure client satisfaction
  • Occasional travel, as required
