As a Web Developer you report directly to the Manager of EMS Services and your main responsibilities will include branding and front-end coding for client micro sites and doing the HTML coding for client email programs following ThinData’s approved best practice standards.

You will be expected to work in a fast paced environment where timelines are often tight. Your strong problem-solving skills and your attention to detail will be critical to your success in this position.

Your core responsibilities require that you work closely with various internal departments on a frequent basis, as well as directly with clients occasionally.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years HTML hand coding experience; helping integrate, showcase and maintain complementary technologies as they emerge

  • Advanced knowledge of web markup and scripting languages: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, AJAX, XML, JSON

  • Experience taking front-end code and integrating it with an ASP.NET application

  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Experience creating micro sites from scratch

  • Experience working with an existing back-end framework and updating front-end branding

  • Understanding of core web standards and technologies including browser capabilities, limitations and cross-browser issues with an emphasis on email clients

  • Experience with online content, email/site architecture and web graphics

  • Quality Assurance/Testing ability
Responsibilities
  • Develop HTML and XHTML code from scratch for micro sites and email templates

  • Stay current with changing coding standards for email and website development

  • Update client email templates as necessary

  • Perform website/email content related updates, additions, and publishing for client review

  • Review and troubleshoot email content and formatting

  • Take layered Photoshop files, code them into HTML pages and apply them to a back-end application

  • Ensure all website/email content complies with accessibility guidelines and document standards

  • Perform email content testing for our supported email clients such as MS Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. perfecting emails prior to deployment

  • Proficient in solving cross-browser content display issues

  • Provide timely status updates to internal project stakeholders that detail both the results of implemented projects and the status of projects underway

  • Work within an existing process framework while applying the client’s unique needs to each customized project
Key Attributes
  • Post secondary education

  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues

  • Experience using versioning control software (ex: MS Source Safe)

  • Photoshop, Illustrator experience

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality

  • Strong initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, supportive team player, anticipates the needs of others

  • Self motivated, exceptional attention to detail, organized and accountable

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills
