Intermediate to Senior Graphic Designer
Opportunity: GD609 - Permanent
As a member of the Creative Services team, this position reports to the Art Director.
Duties:
- Design digital campaigns that build customer relationships and brands. Campaign components may consist of all or any of the following: Web, Email, Mobile and other platforms that may include social media or similar emerging technologies.
- Translate established brand aesthetic from various media channels to the digital space. Create a unique look and feel when no guidelines are in place.
- Lead design efforts and where applicable, assist junior designers throughout the design process.
- Work with the Art Director to develop Studio best practices and guidelines where needed.
- Closely collaborate with the Art Director, other team members and key stakeholders in ideation and creative concepts.
- Support the Art Director occasionally with such tasks as:
- Delivering presentations to internal stakeholders/clients.
- Authoring user-flows, wireframes and other interactive design documentation.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years' interactive design work.
- At least 1 year' experience as Intermediate to Senior Graphic/Interactive Designer / Lead Designer in an interactive environment with a portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design practices including usability, interface design, and interaction design. Agency experience is considered a plus.
- Post-secondary education in digital media or equivalent work experience.
- Strong creative, conceptual thinker; able to execute against strategic business objectives.
- Solid experience in designing digital campaigns of all sizes (big builds, micro-sites and email).
- Focus on direct digital marketing / customer relationships a plus.
- Fluency in industry process, benchmarks, and web 2.0.
- Strong knowledge and opinions of social media and other emerging technologies and their impact on customer relationships.
- Mastery of latest design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready and Illustrator. Flash and other related software a plus.
- Ability to wireframe, document user flows and contribute to the Interaction Architecture process.
- Strong understanding of front-end interactive design solutions. Working knowledge of capabilities of different platforms and browsers, and their design constraints on the digital space.
- Ability to interface well with cross-disciplinary teams (front-end developers, copywriters, animators, account managers, project managers, etc.)
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.
- Strong time management skills. Able to manage shifting priorities. Maintains commitment to deadlines. Works effectively under pressure.

- Outstanding work ethic and sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated.
