Intermediate to Senior Graphic Designer

As a member of the Creative Services team, this position reports to the Art Director.

Duties:


  • Design digital campaigns that build customer relationships and brands. Campaign components may consist of all or any of the following: Web, Email, Mobile and other platforms that may include social media or similar emerging technologies.

  • Translate established brand aesthetic from various media channels to the digital space. Create a unique look and feel when no guidelines are in place.

  • Lead design efforts and where applicable, assist junior designers throughout the design process.

  • Work with the Art Director to develop Studio best practices and guidelines where needed.

  • Closely collaborate with the Art Director, other team members and key stakeholders in ideation and creative concepts.

  • Support the Art Director occasionally with such tasks as:
    • Delivering presentations to internal stakeholders/clients.

    • Authoring user-flows, wireframes and other interactive design documentation.


Qualifications:


  • 4+ years' interactive design work.

  • At least 1 year' experience as Intermediate to Senior Graphic/Interactive Designer / Lead Designer in an interactive environment with a portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design practices including usability, interface design, and interaction design. Agency experience is considered a plus.

  • Post-secondary education in digital media or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong creative, conceptual thinker; able to execute against strategic business objectives.

  • Solid experience in designing digital campaigns of all sizes (big builds, micro-sites and email).

  • Focus on direct digital marketing / customer relationships a plus.

  • Fluency in industry process, benchmarks, and web 2.0.

  • Strong knowledge and opinions of social media and other emerging technologies and their impact on customer relationships.

  • Mastery of latest design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready and Illustrator. Flash and other related software a plus.

  • Ability to wireframe, document user flows and contribute to the Interaction Architecture process.

  • Strong understanding of front-end interactive design solutions. Working knowledge of capabilities of different platforms and browsers, and their design constraints on the digital space.

  • Ability to interface well with cross-disciplinary teams (front-end developers, copywriters, animators, account managers, project managers, etc.)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and presentation skills.

  • Strong time management skills. Able to manage shifting priorities. Maintains commitment to deadlines. Works effectively under pressure.

  • Displays a positive attitude.

  • Outstanding work ethic and sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated.
