Technical Support Specialist
Opportunity: TECH909 - Permanent
As a technical support team member, you will be the first point of contact for clients and internal staff, helping to resolve issues and answer product support questions.
The successful applicant will be expected to work in a fast paced environment where timelines are often tight. Your strong problem-solving skills and your attention to detail will be critical to your success in this position and your responsibilities will require that you work closely with various internal departments, as well as clients directly in resolving a variety of issues.
Responsibilities:
- Support clients and internal staff requiring technical assistance related to ThinData’s Email Marketing System (EMS).
- Perform troubleshooting tasks and problem resolution, log and document support tickets.
- Participate in projects involving system reporting, and client training.
- Work both independently and in a team environment.
- Deploy and evaluate emails in a variety of email clients to recreate and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
- Maintain effective communication with the other ThinData groups and support staff members.
- Display task ownership and provide support within the group on development issues.
- Maintain an accurate record of completed work and status of every project you are assigned.
- Show a commitment to continual self-improvement in order to learn and stay current with enterprise application development and ThinData technology.
- Be proactive in taking ownership of support tickets, seeing them through from start to finish and escalating to other groups as needed.
- Approach problems and issue resolution with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Be available to carry a blackberry to assist clients with after hours support on rotating basis with other staff members.
Qualifications / Experience:
- University or College education in a technology related discipline.
- Previous help desk experience in the information technology field.
- Advanced HTML skills required.
- Strong knowledge of the Internet and email programs such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail required.
- Database querying skills preferred.
- VBScript coding preferred.
- Strong technical understanding of email deployment mechanisms.
- Strong communication skills with a desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Strong Problem solving and multi-tasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience adapting to an existing application structure.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
