We are looking for a dynamic individual with a passion for detail and an eagerness to collaborate with other people while learning about email marketing systems. This is an entry level role that requires you to work with a revolutionary online communications system. ThinData is a permission-based, full-service email marketing company that has been delivering email programs since 1999 and represents some of Canada’s most recognized brands.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years HTML programming experience; helping integrate, showcase and maintain complementary technologies as they emerge

  • Must have HTML coding and basic design knowledge

  • Knowledge of web markup or scripting languages: HTML hand coding, XHTML and ASP

  • Experience in graphic design, PhotoShop, Illustrator

  • Understanding of core web standards and technologies including browser capabilities and limitations with an emphasis on email clients

  • Experience with on-line content, email/site architecture and web graphics

  • Proofreading and/or Quality Assurance/Testing ability

Responsibilities
  • Develop HTML code from scratch

  • Create simple ASP scripts to dynamically display email content

  • Committed to building excellent designs and layouts, in a challenging, fast paced environment

  • Perform website/email content related updates, additions, and publishing for client review

  • Review and troubleshoot email content, personalization, and URL link issues

  • Ensure all website/email content (HTML code) is clean, and complies with accessibility guidelines

  • Work within the team to load HTML/TEXT content into the ThinData EMS (Email Marketing System) for deployment

  • Perform email content testing for our supported email clients such as MS Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. perfecting emails prior to deployment

  • Suggest ways to expand the scope of QA activities and pro-actively improve processes

  • Provide timely status updates to internal clients (Campaign Coordinator/Manager) that detail both the results of implemented projects and the status of projects underway

  • Work within an existing process framework while applying the client’s unique needs to each customized project

Required Skills/Credentials
  • BA or BS

  • 1 - 2 years general business experience

  • Fluency in English

  • HTML (ability to hand-code a must)

  • Ability to create ASP scripts using VB Script

  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues

  • Photoshop, Illustrator experience

  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications

Nice to have
  • Proofreading or online Quality Assurance/Testing experience

  • CSS, VB Script, XHTML, Javascript

  • Knowledge of current rich media technologies and their relevant applications
